The sun is shining, the cast is brilliant and the script is awesome. Who needs sleep (or those precious outdoor filming hours we lost yesterday)?
We kicked off the morning at 3:30, moving in to set up the parking garage as soon as it closed for the night. They don’t like you to film car crashes and shootings while there are tenants and moviegoers wandering about the garage, apparently, but were as cooperative as could be about opening things up for us after hours.
By the time most people were starting their days at 8 a.m. on this Sunday morning we’d bounced Ken Brown off the hood of a car, shot a couple of people in the parking garage and were hard at work sweeping broken glass off the concrete and wiping up the “blood” before the morning traffic started.
Ken and Adrian DiGiovanni ran their asses off before dawn (and have a lot of running to do before the day is out) and all those people driving like maniacs and dying on the pavement were beautifully coordinated by Aaron Crippen. Since I was stuck in one place climbing out of my car over and over again while my daughter crumpled to the ground, I didn’t see the most dramatic pieces in action and will have to wait for the final cut like the rest of you. I did hear the impact, though, and can’t wait to see it on film–it made me jump every time, even when I was expecting it.
Other important pieces of information I picked up early this morning:
Much more to come–though I’ve been up for over 9 hours, it’s just barely breakfast time and some of the best shots are yet to come.
